Enterprise-grade security, built in from day one.
Your footage is some of the most sensitive data your business holds. Lend'L protects it with bank-level encryption, isolated cameras, cloud infrastructure under independent audit and continuous security management — so security is never left for you to figure out.
Confidentiality, integrity & availability
Every design decision protects the three pillars of information security — the same CIA framework trusted across banking and government systems.
Confidentiality
Video is encrypted end to end and visible only to the authorised users on your account. By default, even Lend'L cannot view your footage.
Integrity
Digital certificates and message-integrity checks prevent tampering, so the footage you review is exactly what the camera recorded.
Availability
Redundant cloud architecture and triple-redundant storage keep your footage reachable whenever you need it, from any device.
How your video is protected
- Cameras are physically isolated from the internet — they cannot be reached directly by hackers
- On-site appliances have no open inbound network ports and accept no inbound connections
- AES-256 encryption on recorded video — the same standard used in banking, government and military systems
- TLS 1.2 (or higher) encrypted transmission between every appliance, the cloud and your devices
- Each customer's data is encrypted at rest with a unique, per-customer encryption key
- Automatic security updates — no manual patching, no overlooked firmware, no technician site visit
Authentication & access control
- Multi-factor authentication (MFA) on all accounts — access only from trusted devices
- Single Sign-On (SSO) via Active Directory or LDAP on Professional & Enterprise plans
- Role-based permissions: control who can view, download, or change each camera
- IP whitelisting to restrict access to approved networks (Enterprise Edition)
- Support PIN & Privacy Mode — by default Lend'L has no access to your video
- Audit logs of every login, view, download and setting change, retained for a year
Point-to-point encryption, every step of the way
From the camera to your screen, video moves across encrypted, isolated links. Here's how data is protected at each hop.
Camera → Appliance
Cameras connect only to the on-site Bridge/CMVR over a physically isolated link, never the open internet.
Isolated linkAppliance → Cloud
The appliance locks down footage on-site, then transmits it encrypted to the Lend'L cloud.
AES-256 · TLS 1.2+Cloud storage
Video is stored encrypted at rest with a unique key per customer, in triple-redundant storage.
AES-256 at restCloud → You
Authenticated users access decrypted video over a secure connection, on web or mobile.
TLS 1.2+| Data location | Data encryption | Transmission |
|---|---|---|
| Camera to appliance | Physically isolated link | Physically isolated link |
| Appliance to cloud | AES-256 | TLS 1.2 (or higher) |
| On data-centre servers | AES-256 (unique key per customer) | N/A |
| Cloud to end user | Decrypted for authorised user | TLS 1.2 (or higher) |
Your data, stored where it should be
Data residency matters — especially for businesses operating in India. Each customer's video and data is held in a dedicated regional data centre and stored in triple redundancy to reduce the risk of disruption or loss.
Data centres are logically and physically separate from Lend'L's corporate network, with network address translation (NAT) and per-customer encryption keys ensuring no customer can ever reach another customer's system or data.
Residency & retention
- Primary region for Indian customers: Tokyo today, migrating to Chennai shortly
- Video retention: configurable per plan — 7 days (Starter), 15 days (Business), 30 days (Pro)
- Triple-redundant storage across components, power and connectivity
- Customer data logically + physically separated per tenant
- Audit logs retained for 12 months

Security questions, answered
Who can access my footage?
Only the authorised users you add to your account. Access is controlled by role-based permissions and protected by multi-factor authentication. By default, Lend'L employees cannot view your video.
Can Lend'L staff watch my video?
Not by default. A Support PIN is required for any account access, and Privacy Mode acts as a "light switch" that blocks video access entirely. You stay in control of when, and whether, video can be viewed for support.
Where is my data stored?
Today, customer video is held in our Tokyo region with triple-redundant storage. We are migrating to a Chennai data centre to bring footage onshore for Indian customers; account owners will be notified before the cutover.
What encryption do you use?
AES-256 for video at rest on appliances and in the cloud, and TLS 1.2 or higher for all data in transit — the same level of encryption used in banking and government applications.
How are security updates handled?
Automatically, via the cloud. There's no manual patching, no overlooked firmware, and no need for a technician site visit — a common weak point in traditional DVR/NVR systems.
Do you keep an audit trail?
Yes. Audit logs track every login, video view, download and setting change by users, administrators and Lend'L personnel, and are retained within the account for a year.
Security shouldn't be your problem to solve
Let Lend'L handle encryption, isolation, compliance and updates — so you can focus on running your business.
